Eureka Release Notes
New features are incorporated into Eureka on a continuous integration / continuous deployment basis. As enhancements are incorporated into Eureka, current Eureka users are notified and details are included in the Release Notes, below.
App VM Version 4.0: January 12, 2023
Updated from Centos 7 to Ubuntu 22.04
Swapped out NoMachine for Apache Guacamole
Removed option for separate RStudio link
Incorporated HPC into App VM
New login page is no longer compatible with password managers
Session count is no longer capped at 4. Guacamole is open-source and allows for unlimited concurrent login sessions

App VM Version 3.0: July 20, 2020
Features:
Limited internet access! Time limited access to pre-defined URLs will be enabled on the Eureka App VM. Details on what URLs are included can be found here. Note that the mirrored Bioconductor Repository will be going away with this release. If you are on a Eureka v2 instance, you will need to be upgraded a v3 instance.
App VM Version 2.0: December 12, 2019
Features:
Redesigned Eureka connection to be accessible entirely as a web-based login solution.
Nightly backups of Eureka App VM images in case disaster recovery is needed.
App VM Version 1.6: September 2, 2019
Features:
Access to local mirror of the Anaconda repository within Eureka; updated daily. Release is no longer available because of unstable updates to Anaconda.
Access to local mirror of the PiPy repository within Eureka; updated daily. Release is no longer available because of a change with the storage of the repository on Cloud Storage.

Automatically shut down idle VM after 20mins. This helps ensure users are not charged when the VMs are not being used.
